THE BEGINNING IN 2008...
Led by a few enthusiastic local people who love Sierre, their hometown, a group met up to discuss the possibility of creating new events in the tradition of the Fêtes du Rhône, Festival du Petit-Bois, Sympaboum, Festival international de la BD, and Vinéa.
These Blues lovers formed an initiating committee made up of Jacques Melly, Patrick Bérod, Gérard Sermier, Jean-Marie Grand, Bernard Moix, Paul-Mac Bonvin, Daniel Dekumbis, Fabrice Caldelari and Silvio Caldelari, and they decided to present the project to create an international festival dedicated to Blues to the town council under the name of
Children till 16 years pay 50% of the ticket price but can only enter if accompanied by an adult that is minimum 30 years old. Please present a valid ID at the festival.
The Sierre Blues Festival takes place at the Plaine Bellevue. The site is located to the south of the town centre and the CFF railway station (direct access). Sierre is easy to get to by train, bus or road.
We highly recommend that you use public transport to get to the Sierre Blues Festival which is located just south of the CFF railway station and the bus station.
If you decide to travel by car with your own vehicle, various Festival car parks are available. Follow the P FESTIVAL signs.
