Blues Power from a Rising Star
Guitarist, singer, and songwriter DK Harrell is one of the most remarkable rising stars of today’s blues scene. Born in 1998 in Ruston, Louisiana, he discovered B.B. King at the age of two and began singing with passion from the very start. Early on, he joined his church choir and immersed himself in the blues, honing his guitar playing and developing a singular, powerful voice, inspired by masters such as Albert King, Freddie King, Elmore James, and Muddy Waters.
His career has been marked by outstanding achievements: debut album The Right Man (2023), rave critical reviews, and prestigious awards, including the Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist and the B.B. King Of The Blues Award for preserving traditional blues. His second album, Talkin’ Heavy, released on Alligator Records, cements his status as a leading musician, blending searing riffs, irresistible grooves, and deeply emotive vocals, all delivered with a magnetic stage presence.
DK Harrell has already captivated audiences at blues festivals around the world, from the U.S. to Europe, including Canada, Germany, France, Norway, and Switzerland. His unique style, combining traditional blues with modern flair, electrifies and engages listeners with performances that are always intense and unpredictable.
