The staging of an event has environmental implications, and mitigating these effects is a key priority for the Sierre Blues Festival.
Environmental responsibility
By creating an eco-responsible charter, the festival is committed to the sustainable development of the city of Sierre.
This commitment is reflected on the ground through the following measures:
- Utilization of reusable and deposit-based cups.
- Installation of highly visible waste sorting points distributed throughout the site to encourage festival-goers to sort their waste.
- Preference for the installation of stands and food trucks using local products.
- Encouragement of festival-goers to use public transportation.
- Sustainable site planning to reduce the impact of usage on the Plaine de Bellevue.
- Establishment of an environmental commission to collaborate with stakeholders in the region.
Social Responsibility
The Sierre Blues Festival is proud to offer its visitors the Fiesta Label. The Fiesta Label is a project aimed at reducing risks in festival environments.
It is awarded to events, concert halls, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants that commit to implementing genuine party ethics. The themes of the label range from prevention to risk reduction, including youth protection, security reinforcement, and environmental considerations.
Fiesta overall focuses on prevention and risk reduction in festival environments. This program is managed by the Addiction-CIPRET sector of Promotion santé Valais.
